We believe that children “catch” the faith by being part of a faith community and “learn” the faith both at home and at church. Children are an important part of our community here at Epiphany.
Children of all ages are welcome to participate in Sunday worship, and each service has a segment that is specifically designed for children. Children are welcome to begin receiving communion when their parents feel they are ready for it.
On alternate Sundays during the school year, we also offer these opportunities for our youngest attendees:
For those aged 2 (or so) through kindergarten, a teacher will lead the children to a separate area during the readings and sermon time for their own story and prayer time. They’ll return during the exchange of peace, and perhaps share a song or something they’ve learned with the rest of the congregation.
And then for those in grades 1 through 6, we’ll have a Sunday school lesson immediately after the service from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. This will include a Scripture story, discussion, and an activity, as well as a takeaway for further discussion and learning with their families at home.
Everyone working with our young people has passed a background check and has been trained for this ministry.
The fall 2025 schedule for Sunday school is: September 28, October 12 and 26, November 9 and 23, and December 7. Check the calendar of events for the latest updates.
Parents may contact the pastor directly for more information about these programs, as well as learning opportunities for middle and high school age students, as we continue to develop them here at Epiphany.
